September, 2024 | Graz, Austria
I cordially invite you all to the 19th Austrian Chemistry Days which will take place in Vienna from September 20th until September 22nd , 2022.
Despite these difficult times I hope as many of you that can, will join us in Vienna and participate in this biennual meeting of the Austrian Chemical Society which had to be postponed from 2021 to 2022 due to COVID-19.
The Austrian Chemistry Days are well known to offer a forum for presentation and discussion of recent progress in all areas of chemistry and chemical technologies and allow for strong interaction between young and old as well as universities and industry. Human interaction is by far the most important reagent of such meetings and although Zoom and Teams have come to our rescue the last two years, nothing can replace the in-person warmth and good will that is the essence of meetings. The meeting will take place at TU Wien in Vienna, Austria, which is together with GÖCH host of the event and the main topic will be “Green Chemistry for a Sustainable Europe”. Internationally recognized speakers from universities as well as industry will shed some light on important issues in this regard, e.g. sustainability, energy storage, carbon capture etc., and how chemists can contribute to their solution.
Besides these keynote lectures there will be enough room and time for oral and poster presentations and there will also be some special workshops organized by and for young chemists which are of course open for everybody to attend. The Austrian Chemistry Days are a perfect opportunity to strengthen links between academia and industry and this year the Slovak Chemical Society will also be the official partner of this event. In addition to the scientific program, there will be an opportunity to visit some of the nearby industry, to get to know the beauty of Vienna, and enjoy Austrian cuisine. So, exciting times for all. You don’t want to miss out.
Register now and I will see you in Vienna where a memorable chemistry reaction will no doubt take place.
Univ. Prof. Dr. Peter GÄRTNER
President of the Austrian Chemical Society (GÖCH)
Dear colleagues, chemists,
I am honored to convey my regards on behalf of the Slovak Chemical Society as the official partner of the conference Ӧsterreichische Chemietage 2022. This is again the great opportunity to grow and support our partnerships between chemists across the borders. The main motive of this conference is the green chemistry for sustainable Europe. It is not only about how chemistry and chemical engineering can be performed in a sustainable way, but also how we should think differently and help to mitigate the climate crisis.
This field must be a source of new ideas, since we need innovations and strong progress. This is the future of chemistry. I am looking forward to meeting you in Vienna.
Monika Jerigová
President of Slovak Chemical Society
