Travel to Vienna
Vienna is in the heart of Europe, very well connected via Plane, Train and Bus to all major destinations in Europe and around the world. A comfortable trains or busses bring you from the airport to the city centre.
High speed trains from e.g., Munich, Zurich, Bratislava or Prague arrive at Vienna, only a few underground stations away from our conference site.
As tolls are compulsory on all motorways and expressways in Austria, you will also need a vignette to use Vienna’s city motorways. Vienna’s districts are entirely short-stay parking zones. In districts 1 to 9 (including the vicinity of the Technical University) and 20, you will need to purchase a parking ticket from Monday to Friday (except on public holidays) between 9.00 am and 10.00 pm. We do not recommend parking for longer periods, because in most places the duration is limited to three hours.

How to stay in Vienna
There are dozens of hotels from cheap to exclusive to stay! Some hotels in the city centre are in walking distance but will charge definitely more than average. We recommend affordable accommodations along the underground line U1 station “Südtiroler Platz (Hauptbahnhof)” which is easy to reach by train or from the airport or at “Praterstern” where you are close to a wonderful area for sports and recreation.
Feel free to find your favourite place. The GÖCH secretary can assist if you have any questions while booking your hotel. Please note: we do not offer a booking service or can pre-order rooms for participants.
