Regina Palkovits is a Full Professor for Heterogeneous Catalysis & Chemical Technology at RWTH Aachen University and Director of the Institute for a Sustainable Hydrogen Economy at Forschungszentrum Jülich. She graduated in Chemical Engineering from Technical University Dortmund and finished her Ph.D. with Prof. Ferdi Schüth at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. She received numerous awards, including the 2019 EFCATS Young Researcher Award and the 2016 DECHEMA Award. She is a Max Planck Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion and as of 2020, a member of the North Rhine–Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts. In 2024, she was awarded the project of the century by Werner Siemens Foundation focussing on Catalysis for a Circular Economy (catalaix).
