Our website address is: https://chemietage.at and is under administration of the Austrian Chemical Society(Österreichische Chemische Gesellschaft, hereafter refered to as GÖCH). This privacy policy is meant to inform visitors of the website and registered attendees about the type, extent, and use of collected personal and non-personal data by the website chemietage.at and by GÖCH.
We at GÖCH take your privacy seriously and are handling your data confidential and accordingly to legal regulations in Austria. Due to changing technologies and further development of the website, we recommend to revisit this privacy policy in regular intervals.

What kind of data do we collect?
- Non-personal data: we collect non-personal data (Country of origin, time spent on site and sub-sites etc.) about the visitor behavior on our site to optimize our website. - Personal data: If you are a member of GÖCH, register as such, or register for Chemietage 2026 as a (non-)member attendee, you agree to us using and saving your personal data.
The personal data for registration contains among others:
- your general data (titel, name, date of birth, member number of the applicable chemistry society, gender, employer, payment information, and similar)
- adress data as stated by you (address including street, postal code, city, telephone number, email-address, website)
- data regarding your membership and attendance at parts of the event (Workshops, excursions and so on)
What do we use your personal data for?
The personal data is used for following purposes:
- sending of information and news about the Chemistry Days 2026
- sending (via postal mail or email) of materials regarding the chemistry days
- other advertising activity that is carried out directly by GÖCH – This also contains saving and using data of visitors and attendees for future mailings
- transmission of necessary data to organize and execute the workshops, excursions and so on, which are also organised by third-parties.
- in order to comply with legal regulations if necessary, especially regarding contact tracing (COVID Pandemic)
Who we share your data with
Your information will be shared, if necessary, with third parties such as the organizers of workshops, excursions and so on, to properly execute the event. Your dietary restrictions will be anonymized and shared with our commissioned catering service provider. We may share your title and name with printing providers in oder to produce your name badge for the event.
Our website is based on the website building service wordpresss. User information, invoice information and similar are processed trough this system and will also be saved on external servers hosted by wordpress.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Cookies

You can disagree with the usage of cookies on our website, but please be aware that this may affect the complete functionality of the site. You can delete cookies in your browser and also set your browser to automatically reject the creation of cookies.
How long we save your data

To retract your agreement regarding your personal data, you may write a message via email or letter to the secretary of GÖCH (office@goech.at), Österreichische Chemische Gesellschaft, Nibelungengasse 11/6, 1010 Wien, Österreich. Once we have recieved your message, we will comply with it as soon as possible.
